Dr. A. K. Singh is a highly distinguished neurosurgeon in India. He is credited with introducing the widespread use of the microscope in modern neurosurgical practice, thereby, making it safe and minimally invasive.

He has also introduced several new techniques such as microscopic transoral procedures for craniovertebral anomalies, microvascular decompression for trigeminal neuralgia, and neuro endoscopy in India. Additionally, Dr. Singh is the author of three textbooks on neurosurgery and is known as the master of spine surgery in India.
