Dr. Vijay Kher is an eminent Nephrologist with 40 years of experience. He has set up high-volume Nephrology departments at numerous major hospitals in North India. An intelligent clinician, a teacher par excellence, and a keen researcher, Dr. Kher has delivered 350 lectures at national and international events, published 180 peer-reviewed articles, and authored and edited 11 books with 40 chapters over the years.

His research interests include kidney transplantation (clinical immunosuppression, pre-emptive kidney transplantation, steroid-free immunosuppression, cost containment), progression of renal disease, acute kidney injury, and glomerulonephritis. He has been awarded fellowships of the Royal College of Physicians Edinburg, the National Academy of Medical Sciences, and the Indian Society of Nephrology.
